These journal covers are made out of a chrome tanned genuine leather and have been hand cut and hand stitched. The crazy horse style of leather is meant to show the natural markings of the leather along with the dye color. The freckle spattering and lines are purposely left to enhance the character of the leather.

Leather is a natural material and is inherently made to patina over its lifetime. Minor scrapes and scratches sometimes occur. We try to always work from a place of respect. Sometimes there are scars or other markings on the leather that we use. We do not throw these imperfections away, but try to celebrate them in our work. We will always do our best to make sure any of these markings are shown in pictures so that every customer can decide what is best for them.

Due to the nature of hand cutting each journal, some leeway is given in dimensions, but they will all fit the appropriate insert sizes.
